During the Great Depression, an Oklahoma farm boy and a charismatic minister learn that they are key players in a proxy war being fought between Heaven and Hell.
I’ve watched the 2 seasons on HBO, really great production, kind of fairy tale and fight between good and bad.
I am not 100% sure, but I’ve heard that this series have been discontinued.
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, often referred to simply as Borat, is a 2006 mockumentary comedy film directed by Larry Charles and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It was written, produced by, and stars the English comedian Sacha Baron Cohen in the title role of a fictitious Kazakh journalist traveling through the United States, recording real-life interactions with Americans. It is the second film built around one of Baron Cohen’s characters from Da Ali G Show, following Ali G Indahouse, which also featured a cameo by Borat.

Despite a limited initial release in the United States, the satire was a critical and commercial success. Baron Cohen won the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor: Musical or Comedy, as Borat, while the film was nominated for Best Motion Picture in the same category. Borat was also nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 79th Academy Awards. The film is often featured in critical assessments of greatest comedy films ever made.
Well, I can’t say that it is getting even closer to my top 100 favorite comedies, but it is good idea to watch it.
Game of Thrones is new series on HBO, covering ancient times, sword, magic, love and relationships. Generally there are few powerful families and the king. I don’t want to spoil your feeling about the movie, just want to recommend to you. Here is a brief summer of of the plot:
Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Political and sexual intrigue is pervasive. The dominant families are the Houses Stark, Lannister, and Baratheon. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard, Lord Stark, to serve as Hand of the King, or highest official. Secretly warned that the previous Hand was assassinated, Eddard accepts in order to investigate further. Meanwhile the Queen’s family, the Lannisters, may be hatching a plot to take power. Across the sea, the last members of the previous and deposed ruling family, the Targaryens, are also scheming to regain the throne. The friction between these clans, and with the remaining great Houses Greyjoy, Tully, Arryn, and Tyrell, leads to full-scale war. All while a very ancient evil awakens in the farthest North. Amidst the war and political confusion, a neglected military order of misfits, the Night’s Watch, is all that stands between the realms of men and icy horrors beyond.
I don’t think that there is anybody on this planet that have not watched at least one episode or heard about X-Files. The series are favorite of few generation covering paranormal activities based on true stories and science fiction. Definitely in my top 10 of the best Sci-Fi series ever.
So generally this is brief summary:
This television series follows the adventures and lives of FBI agents investigating those cases that involve the paranormal or previously unsolved (especially by conventional means). FBI Special Agents Mulder, Scully, Doggett and Reyes work to uncover forces within the United States of America government that would violate people’s rights, alien creatures and monsters alike that attack, and other mysteries. Written by Lee Jamilkowski
FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are not the same at all. Mulder is a believer in the paranormal while Scully is not. Together, they investigate paranormal cases which takes them all the way to alien conspiracies within our government and even puts their lives and careers at risk. Together, they try to solve the mysteries within our government, no matter what they have to do, and along the way they try to solve any other case that’s related to the paranormal. Written by yatessixecho
Fox (Don’t call me Fox) Mulder is a believer in the paranormal. He has been assigned to the X-Files unit which investigates FBI cases for which standard investigatory techniques don’t seem to work. Dana Scully, a medical doctor and FBI agent, is a skeptic. Together they travel to FBI cases where something odd has happened.
Probably most of the anime fans have heard about Death Note which was a big hit and top 10 anime a couple of years ago. Actually there is live movie and new edition called L saves the world. Here is some brief plot.
In the second installment of the Death Note film franchise, Light Yagami meets a second Kira and faithful follower Misa Amane and her Shinigami named Rem. Light attempts to defeat L along with Teru Mikami (a Kira follower) and Kiyomi Takada (another Kira follower) but in the end will Light win? or will a Shinigami named Ryuk make all the difference in Light’s victory or his ultimate death?
Honestly, I prefer the anime, the movie scenario have cut some important parts of the anime and actually have change the end. However, I highly recommend to watch both anime and movie.
I watched 2046 recently, the story is really great and honestly, I haven’t ever watch anything similar. Generally it is a love story about real life where a writer see the future through his past.
Here is plot summary: He was a writer. He thought he wrote about the future but it really was the past. In his novel, a mysterious train left for 2046 every once in a while. Everyone who went there had the same intention…..to recapture their lost memories. It was said that in 2046, nothing ever changed. Nobody knew for sure if it was true, because nobody who went there had ever come back- except for one. He was there. He chose to leave. He wanted to change.
